Formerly Associate Professor and Head of Piano at the University of Auckland, Rae de Lisle is one of New Zealand's most respected piano pedagogues. With nearly fifty years of experience to draw upon, and a succession of highly successful students, Rae is in high demand in New Zealand and increasingly internationally.
Many of her former students are now established as pianists and pedagogues all over the world. Rae received a Teaching Excellence Award from the University in 2011, and in the same year received the Marie Vandewart Award for outstanding service and commitment to fostering the love of chamber music in New Zealand. She was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2015 for her Services to Music. Rae has done substantial research into musicians’ injuries and has graduated with a PhD on focal dystonia. She also is a regular presenter and key-note speaker at national and international pedagogical conferences. Read more about Rae here. |
